Katrina victims were NOT permitted to bring ANY animals on the rescue boats, busses or into the shelters. They were FORCED to leave them behind. Many pet owners chose to not to evacuate for this reason. While I share your obvious love of animals, I would think it wise to research the subject before passing judgement.
